OverviewWhile the venue of her cases over the last thirty years has been diverse, Connie’s practice has always been focused on health care litigation. For the first ten years of her career she prosecuted patient claims against health care providers. While continuing to work full-time, she decided to further her education in healthcare and became the first attorney to complete a Masters in Health Care Administration at the College of Osteopathic Medicine (now Des Moines University). She has now spent over twenty years defending health care providers and facilities against claims of medical malpractice. In addition to healthcare litigation trials she frequently appears before the Iowa Board of Medicine, the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals and the Office of Inspector General on issues related to licensing, EMTALA, HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid Fraud and Abuse. She has also represented both facilities and professionals on issues of credentialing and legal concerns related to restraint of trade.
