Joe Moser has been elected to serve two-year terms on The Iowa State Bar Association Board of Governors and the Polk County Bar Association Board of Governors. This is Joe’s second term of service on each Board.
The Iowa State Bar Association is an organization that facilitates professional growth and collegiality among Iowa attorneys. The association represents approximately 8,000 lawyers from all practice areas across the state. It has one of the highest membership rates of any voluntary bar association in the country (at approximately 90% of licensed attorneys). It is governed by the Board of Governors elected from each of the state’s 14 judicial election districts, led by an elected slate of officers (President, President-elect and Vice President).
The Polk County Bar Association is the largest local bar association in the State of Iowa. It is a non-profit, volunteer organization working to serve and improve the legal and judicial system while providing public service to the community, including through the Volunteer Lawyers Project which serves Polk County’s low-income residents by handling as many as 1,000 cases each year to the tune of thousands of hours of donated legal work. The Polk County Bar association also provides continuing legal education and networking opportunities to its diverse membership, which includes judges, private practitioners, government workers, and corporate legal counsel.
