Jeffrey R. Kappelman
J.R.’s practice focuses on trial law and appellate practice. In his years at the firm, he has successfully defended hospitals, clinics, physicians, and other licensed health care professionals across Iowa against claims of medical malpractice. J.R. also represents health care providers before professional licensure boards, and provides advice and counsel in connection with administrative proceedings, internal investigations, and other healthcare related matters. His litigation practice also includes professional liability and malpractice defense, professional licensing, construction law, employment law, products and premises liability, personal injury, wrongful death, and insurance coverage analysis and defense.
Prior to joining the firm, J.R. served as a judicial law clerk for one year in the Fifth Judicial District of Iowa and one year for Judge Gayle Nelson Vogel of the Iowa Court of Appeals.
